Fundraising Update, Pix, Mercedes

As of last Tuesday, Maureen at the Bell Center told me that our family has raised over $20,000! Congratulations to you all - it was because of you! We are so excited to be able to give back to them. Thank you for supporting us and giving so generously! If you have not yet given, you still can!

Here are pictures below of the last couple of weeks, most specifically of the race. Enjoy!

This is Jonathan sitting with Jamie's grandmother, Granny.
Last year on February 7, Jonathan had open heart surgery. Can you see his
scar?
A small white line in the middle of his chest...
Hard to capture on camera (he just ate - can you tell?)...

We celebrated Jonathan's year anniversary since his heart surgery and Jackson's
good behavior at school.
The Bell Center had a race for its students. Jonathan "walked" between me and
his speech therapist, Emily, at first. Then, I scooped him up and took him to the
finish. It was cold and raining.
Jackson got a medal for running with Jonathan. Here he is as he prepares for the
sibling race. I was telling him to run as fast as he could.:) Two other girls were his
competition.:)
Run, Jackson, run!
My friend, Julie Cundiff, showed up at the Mercedes Marathon. Our entire Sunday
School class made t-shirts (unbeknownst to us) that said "Team Warren" and
came to every exchange zone! Jamie and I were so touched!
Here is Jamie as he passes the first exchange zone. He told me he could keep
going. Jamie's dad, Jim, was supposed to run the next leg at that point. However,
he was hospitalized the day before with a bacterial infection. Jamie and I had
decided to run two legs each and alternate with Betsy in the middle. As Jamie
approached me he said, "I feel good - I want to keep going." So, he did!
Jamie, feeling good.
Jamie, with our friend, Drew, after running a total of 9.3 miles. All the families got
up early, came, and carted their kids around the whole city for us! What devotion!
All week afterwards, Jamie and I would look at each other and say, "Can you
believe they did that?"
Here is Betsy running her leg. She ran a 10K - 6.2 miles.
Daddy and Jonathan where Mommy began her part of the race.
Daddy and the boys.
Here is my mom videoing the race for my dad. She and my sister drove down
Friday. My aunt, recently from Baton Rouge, drove over on Saturday.
Courtney, Nanette, Jonathan, Daddy, Drew, Mommy, Jackson, and Scott. Can
you believe it?! What support!
Betsy approaching her final portion of the race.
Betsy and Julie exchanging the timing device.
We each wore this on our backs, signifying we were in a relay and that we were
running for Jonathan This was a constant reminder not to stop.
Aunt Betsy and Daddy pausing for a photo.
The boys were in the car for four hours. Jackson needed to get out! Jonathan sitting in the sun.
Aunt Betsy playing with her nephews.
Jamie and Betsy met me at the finish and ran in with me. I ran the last two legs.
This is our Sunday School class - the Souders family, the Bice family, the
Cundiff family, and us.

Original Team Warren - Jim, Jamie, Julie, and Betsy.
Jim, Jonathan, and Jamie at the finish line.
Jonathan, Julie, and Eve - Eve and I taught at Mountain Brook together. Eve
and her husband, Michael, ran the half. They were saving their legs for their 18th
marathon they would run the next weekend.:)
My aunt, Nancy, Jackson, Jamie, me, Jonathan, Betsy, and my mom, Susan.
Jamie, sleeping Jonathan, and Betty, Jamie's mom. Our class at church wearing their "Team Warren" shirts.

We came in second place on 25 January 2007. There was a parent who fundraised offline and beat us by $700! Many thanks to all of you who contributed. If you have not donated yet and would like to, you can give online: www.firstgiving.com/jonathanwarren. If you are uncomfortable with online giving, you can mail checks to
The Bell Center
1700 29th Court South
Homewood, AL 35209

As of today, our total online is $13,023.60. We think we have at least $3,000 or $4,000 in checks that have not been factored into our total. Thank you so much!

We are gearing up for Saturday. Jamie and I both feel ready. Betsy and Jim have also been training. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers for good weather and our health!

Tomorrow is the anniversary of Jonathan's heart surgery - we cannot believe it!

Have a great day and thanks for keeping up with our story!
