This month we got our house a little more organized, decorated a little for Halloween, and dressed up as much as possible. Jonathan had three costumes from which to choose - a pumpkin, a race car driver, and a firefighter. Since he was a pumpkin last year, he was a race car driver at Boo at the Zoo (our zoo's Halloween celebration) and a firefighter on the night of Halloween.
Earlier this month, Jackson dressed up for his friend, Amelia's, birthday party. I pushed him on a rocket swing. It was a little light, I pushed a little too hard, and he fell out. I could not keep him awake and he was behaving strangely so I took him to the ER. In the parking lot, Jamie got in touch with a nurse on the pediatrician's after hours rotation and she told us it did not warrant an ER visit. We just had to wake him every four hours. It was slightly traumatic.
Aunt Emmy, Eric, Emma, and Uncle Ryan visited the middle of the month. Always good to see them.
We made our pumpkins at the last minute - a happy face, Darth Vader, and a tie fighter. I was going to try to make Yoda, but Jackson was insistent we have a happy face. Lesson learned: only buy as many pumpkins as you want to carve.
Halloween night we went to a party and then trick-or-treated. We ran into friends along the way and walked with them. Jackson was scared to go up to houses unless accompanied by his friend, Wonder Woman. Jackson's mom, as a result, was a little disappointed with size of the take-home candy.
Jonathan turns two years old in less than two weeks. We cannot believe it! So much has happened in the last two years and things that were so huge at the time do not seem so now.
